I've been having a lot of problems with the hydraulic clutch. The clutch blew up about a year ago.  It was completely replaced by a Chevy dealership.  Since then, I've been losing pressure in the clutch.  I've taken it back 5 times, had the master and slave cylinder replaced, but every few weeks the pressure on the clutch peddal dissappears.  This past weekend, I removed the trasmission and inspected all of the parts for wear, there was no wear.  After reassembling, the clutch worked fine for a day, then no pressure.  This seems to happen after the truck has been driven a while and everything is hot.  Any ideas?
Answer -
Possibly some moisture(water)in the fluid, turning to steam when hot.
Give it a real good bleeding, and change the fluid.
But the master cylinder may be the problem...did they replace it, or rebuild it?

Van:
Thanks for your reply.  The master cylinder was replaced along with the line and slave cylinder.  The fluid was also replaced.  If there was any moisture in the fluid, what would it look like when I bleed the line?
Answer -
Catch it in a glass, and it would be beads of water in the bottom.
I'm wondering if they installed a faulty master cylinder.
The slave cylinder either works or leaks.

Van:
Thanks again for your quick response.  The master cylinder is brand new.  The slave cylinder is not leaking.  I drained the system, re-filled with new fluid, and bled the line.  There is presszure and the clutch works good.  Hopefully, it will keep working.  Thanks again for yopur help.

Answer
You are sure welcome, Dan, but like I said, if the slave isn't leaking, and there isn't air, either trapped or due to moisture, then the only thing that could cause it is the master cylinder not pushing fluid.
I have in the past happened upon a brand new brake master cylinder that had internal problems, so it isn't unheard of.
Good luck,
Van
