Truck Repair: ford f150 door, filter cleaners, oxygen sensor

Question
I have a 94 f150 .The drivers side door drops down when I open it and then is hard to close. There seems to be some play in the hinge yet it appears to be still bolted firmly to body.Any suggestions on how to jerryrig it or do you think Ineed new hinges? Also check engine light goes on now and again,I have changed air, fuel breather filters and oxygen sensor.I have used numerous fuel filter cleaners,it still comes on.What else should I check or should I just have it hooked up to computer to tell me?it is a94 f150 4.9 6 cylinder  2wd auto

Answer
Hi Joe,
A scan tool, or code reader would at least tell you which area to start looking.
As for the door, there may be a hinge pin and bushing kit available for it.
otherwise wedge a 2X4 in the area of the hinge...down low, or under the edge of the door, and push it toward closed. This can tease it up, and help for a while.
