Truck Repair: 87 silverado running bad/electrical problems too, throttle position sensor, throttle body injection

Question
hey i got a 87 silverado 305, 4x4, throttle body injection. one day about a month ago i got in in the morning and i cranked it and it turned and turned and flooded. and i replaced plugs, wired cap, rotor, temperature sensor, oxygen sensor. ever since that day it floods after sitting a couple days and when it idles it wither races or idles really fast, and when i'm driving it hesitates for a bit when i floor it but then picks up and accelerates fine. im thinking timing maybe?

now for the electrical. my stereo and amp always shut off independantly. especially when i turn my lights on, hit the brake, clutch or blinkers. ive searched for shorts and cant find any. im just fed up now.
i notice too that when my stereo is on the display flickers alot as if the alternator was shot, but my battery is always fully charged.
the stereo is pioneer and the deck and amp are both wired directly to the battery with their own fuse and they are directly grounded to the cab.

anyway, i dont wanna write a novel here but those are my problems. i knew i shoulda fixed my ford instead of buying this stupid chev.
please help me. im frustrated.

Answer
Hi Ben,
Make sure the ground wire from the firewall to the engine block is good, clean tight, and at least as big as the stereo ground wires. Bigger is better.
Then you might check the throttle position sensor, and the idle air control valve, both in the throttle body.
Also look and see if the gaskets might be leaking fuel into the manifold.
Good luck,
Van
