AnswerI'll bet you do. Somewhere in that ere, they started using Dexron ATF in transfer cases, where prior to then 80-90 gear oil was used.
If the owners manual is available, it should say.
From my experience, the first ATF I saw in one was the first aluminum case I saw. Before that, cast iron cases, and EP-90 oil, although I don't know if there is a coorelation.
