Vintage Cars: oil filter mount 1970 buickskylark 5.7 motor, oil pressure light

Question
I replaced GASKET on the oil filter mount, the GASKET was paper thin.when I tighten down bolts, not using a lot of force the shaft with the gears are on would not turn.I put on a thicker GASKET and everything seemed ok.I primed oil filter by using petroleum gel.Now when the car runs in park or not using gas pedal or breaking for stop the oil light comes on.what should I do?

Answer
You should attache a mechanical gauge where the oil sender is and read the actual pressure.  Oil pressure switches that activate a light can be
set anywhere from 3 to 20 psi depending on what the engineers specify. Once you know the real pressure at idle, you  can make a better
decision.
