Vintage Cars: mercedes radiator, radiator shop, 380sl

Question
I have a 1982 500sl euro in need of a radiator. Can I use a 1982 380sl radiator, they are much easier and cheaper to buy.  Also what has been your experience with recoreing these?  Last question if its better to purchase new or rebuilt do you have a good source?  Thanks

Answer
if the end tanks are in good shape , any competant radiator shop SHOULD be able to do it , I say should because not many will any more.  I recored mine on my 72 and it works fine.  I would not buy a used radiator , many have unseen issues.
on the swap  parts, the EPC shows the radiator to be the same number 1075011701, the 560 has an oil cooler , the 380 does not so that may be your stumbling block if the oil cooler on the 560 is not good.

As far as new, there are many online radiator places that make the radiators to specs, just shop them,  Also Peachparts.com has good guys that can help
good luck
