Vintage Cars: towing a trailer, rear wheel bearings, receiver hitches

Question
QUESTION: I have a 1978 Mustang, v8 302 automatic. My question is there a way to put a trailer hook on it, as I'm unsure as it is a uni body frame with polyurethane bumper. I was hoping to tow a small teardrop trailer that matches the car that weighs under 900 lbs.

ANSWER: Yes, receiver hitches can be attached but do not do it unless you
do not care how long this vehicle is usable. Even towing 500 pounds
puts a lot of stress on the suspension and rear wheel bearings. If
it is an automatic you will also have to put in an additional
cooler.

If you still want to do it send a follow up and I will list 2
companies.

QUESTION: I do care how long I keep this vehicle. It is in excellent shape with 50k original miles on it, well kept. Looking for an answer if it is ok to toe 900lbs safely. If so I plan on matching the teardrop to the car like other duo's I have seen.
Was mare concerned I guess about the lack of frame for towing. Has this been done before, if so, I'm very interested.

Answer
Of course it has been done and it does ruin the vehicle.
I do not think you get it--just because it has been done does not mean
it is  good thing to do. A frameless vehicle gets everything loosened
when used as a tow vehicle--and how about replacing the
rear wheel bearings every year because of towing

do not do it...
