Vintage Cars: 69 280SL will not start but will crank

Question
Parked my 280SL and went to start it again and would not start. Found that there was not power to the coil.  No spark.  Hot wired (battery to coil) and got it home. Found that when ignition key is on, nothing works.  Guages, signals, brake lights, radio, horn, etc..no acccesories work. Checked junction block at bottom of engine and power there.  Power off of starter also good.  I suspect the ignition switch.  But a bitch to get to.  Any suggestions to check before getting into ignition switch?  If you think ignition awitch, what is the best way to get the speedo out so I can get to the ignition switch.

Answer
sounds like the issue, actually common, Just rule out ground issues and make sure that is not the culprit. Speedos are press fitted and best pushed out from behind or carefully pulled from the front. I will see if I can find the procedure and post

this may help
