Vintage Cars: 1971 350SL Restoration, rust spots, spare wheel

Question
Ron,
I have just dicovered your website and it looks to be a great resource. I have had this car for 12 years now and it has started everytime with very minimal servicing and not much driving.
As my kids are moving out I am looking to get stuck into restoring it and while it looks great from the outside as you would expect there is some rust in all the spots you have mentioned in the artiles I have read on your site.
My questions are is there any kits available to replace the most common rust spots - floors, rear wheel arches, spare wheel well? If I need to cut out the rust and weld in new bits am I best to learn how to arc or oxy weld?

Answer
Yes kits are available  http://www.kkmfg.com/index.php
You can get floor pans as well .  I always try to find a parts car cut out what I need  or fabricate my own panels  MIG or TIG welding is a good skill to have
Good Luck , if I can help let me know
