Vintage Cars: TR3 ignition, crane xr700, radio shack

I installed new wiring harness and crane xr700 electronic ignition on my TR3A.  The car runs fine and the generator is charging but the red ignition light stays on.  When I turn off the ignition the car keeps running just fine and will not turn off.  When I check the voltage with the key on and off it works correctly.  When it is running it keeps getting voltage even when the key is off.  Any help you can give me will be greatly appreciated.

The generator is feeding back through the ignition light. At the voltage regulator, at the left end, are
2 usually yellow wires. One comes from the generator and the other goes to the light. Disconnect them one
at a time to see which one controls the light. Leave the wire to the light disconnected until you can
get to Radio Shack and buy a diode (any small one they have in stock). Attach the positive end to the
regulator and the negative end to the wire.
