Vintage Cars: 1966 Ford Mustang Dash Pad, old mercedes, ford mustang

Question
Hi Ron

My '66 dash has faded badly. From what I've been told they don't make the color for my convertible any longer.

The car is Turquoise and so is the interior.

I looked into dying the dash ~ no good, it just won't hold up.
My car has been restored from the bottom up and is almost finished.
The upholster does GREAT work.

What do you think about this idea; will it work.
I.E. Take the turquois vinyl that in the car already and have the dash pad pulled-out and let the upholster cover it; using heart or whatever is will take to fit it to the dash pad.

What do you think ?

Thanks Ron
GOD BLESS

Answer
I think if you can find an upholster that is familiar with old car restoration it is worth a shot, but I have my doubts.  Any chance of finding a dash cover.  I used one on an old Mercedes and the result was great. What about a full replacement?

Sorry can help much more than that - good luck
