Vintage Cars: cylinders dropping, volt coil, screwdriver blade

Question
Hello,
1975 450SL drives and without warning runs like it is dropping a cylinder or two. I replaced the trigger points and it ran better. It sat under the cover for 9 months and when I tried to start it again, it would not start. Started diagnosis with three basics, mechanical, spark and fuel. I started with spark, plugged a timing light, cranked it and got nothing. Opened the cap, removed the rotor and used a screwdriver blade as breaker and heard a voltage crack by the coil. I waited til dark, repeated the test and saw a spark arc from the center pole to the primary lead(s) both positive and negative. I have a generic 12 volt coil and I'm going to hook it up tonight and try to start the car. ( I think moisture from being under the cover for so long made the coil fail) When the car starts (if it will start) and the cylinders start to misfire, what else should I look for (good wires and cap)? The previous owner always had a dealer perform service and the injectors were always removed and cleaned. I'm stumped. Thank you in advance,
John

Answer
well lets get it started first , but if I were to guess Id say injectors , sitting for 9 months is never good to injectors, they cake up and clog. Timing and Dwell of course must be spot on
Check fuel rail pressure , and make sure the pump is spinning up to pressurize
let me know
