Vintage Cars: 1967 GS California, hupmobile, vin numbers

I am in the position to buy a 1967 GS California, or so the owner says.  The vin# doesn't look right, though.  It is 433077Z120681.  I don't think that this is a GS California number.  I think it is a Skylark trying to pass off as a GS. Can you help me?

Don, I finally heard back from my Buick source, and he confirms that GS Californias did exist, but do not have any distinguishing VIN numbers. He said, however, that GS Californias are so rare that the club knows about virtually every one ever produced. He suggested looking on the site www.v8buick.com to check on the car you're looking at.
