Vintage Cars: Ignition Coil Fiat Spider 124 1982, fiat spider 124, coil wire

Why the ignition coil overheat after 15 min of driving the car, It is defective or something else is causing it.

Coils do get warm--they are transformers.  Does it stop working or just seem too hot. If it just seems too hot but does not
stop working: check the secondary connection, it may be corroded or the ignition wire could be faulty. The coil
wire should have around 6K ohms of resistance.
