Is there any good list of makes and models and years of all or most of cars on the internet you can guide me to.

That's far too broad. For older cars, you can find a lot of stuff in Hemmings (hemmings.com). JJ

PS Got your followup note. Sorry, I really can't help you much. For historic Brit cars I always start with Hemmings (in the US), but for more modern stuff, or American, stuff, I really don't know. JJ
