Vintage Cars: 1970 Mercedes 280SE, minor rust, clutch fan

Question
QUESTION: I have a 1970 Mercedes 280SE that is in very good condition. The seats are vinyl
and there is a small tear in the front passenger seat. There is some water
damage to the wood around the front windshield. The body is in great shape
with no dents just some minor rust, about the size of a quarter, near the right
rear wheel well. I'd like to sell the car and would like to know what I should ask.
Thanks! Pat

ANSWER: the 280 SE is a desirable old Benz, but the answer to your question hinges on the following
2 door/four door/coup or convertible?
How many miles?
Service records?
Working order of major systems- electrical,AC,vacuum?
Paint condition?
How many owners?
Daily driver?

basic daily driver with good service records is a plus, fewer doors and convertible a real plus
Let me know

QUESTION: Thanks for getting back to me so quickly.

It's a 4 door Sedan.
The odometer reads 17,796.
We are the third owner and the odometer read approx 5,000 when we bought
it.
We have some service records and have the original owners manual.
We just had the car tuned up and completely checked over and it's in great
running order. The radiator was recored.
The electrical system works but the AC and the heat doesn't.
The paint is in excellent condition. There is some small rust showing, about
the size of a quarter at the base of the R rear wheel well. There is a small
crack in the finish, about a 1/4" with some rust showing on the trunk.
The windshield has a crack. There's a chip in the right front fender. The
mechanic noted that the temp runs a bit high at idle, would need clutch fan
replaced and possible thermostat.

Answer
low mileage is a real plus, but the 4 door sedan is at the low end of the series in terms of being desirable.  That said the car sounds nice and the items in question to be fixed can be done fairly easily.
I would say based on your description a fair price may be between $3000 to $4200
If it's  were a 2.8 coupe, $10K-15K . If it were a convertible, even more
