Vintage Cars: Sell or restore?, 1966 pontiac tempest, accurate figure

Question
My father gave me his 1966 Pontiac Tempest (four cylinder). One owner with original bill of sale and brochure. Needs interior attention and has some rust on exterior. No body damage. I have all original chrome. 67,000 original miles. She cranks and drives. I'm torn between keeping and selling. One guy offered a $1,000 and my husband through him out of our yard. What is a fair price, or is it best to restore myself and then sell?

Answer
It would be impossible (not to mention irresponsible) for me to appraise a car I can't see; phrases like "needs interior attention" and "some rust" are too vague and open to wide interpretation.  You need to contact an appraiser in your area that give you an accurate figure by seeing the car in person.  And 1963 was the last year Pontiac built a Tempest with the 4-cylinder engine.
