Vintage Cars: 1948 Packard Convertible Body Mount, best bet, packards

Question
I was handed a 1948 Packard convertible in pieces to restore. Without the benefit of having dismantled the car myself, it's been difficult to reassemble. For the most part I've managed to find good diagrams, but I haven't been able to find anything about the chassis/body mounts. Do you have any specific information about this (or better yet, can you point me to a diagram?).  Thanks - Terry

Answer
This question is just too brand-specific for me to answer; my knowledge just isn't that extensive.  Your best bet is to join a Packard club, hopefully one with members in your area.  I did a quick web search and found these:

http://www.packardsinternational.com/

Also, try this one:

(though not Packard-specific, they have a large number of Packard members)

Packard clubs are among the best out there- once you find one, you'll discover a great group of people that are totally devoted to the marque.

I do know that you have one other thing on your side: Packard convertibles were considered the strongest, best-built convertibles to come out of Detroit.  Several other manufacturers would buy Packards and tear them apart to see how they did it.  My point: you've got something worth restoring.  Good luck.
