Did the 55,56 and 57 series of Chevy's sell more vehicles than any other vehicles in the U.S. or in the world during it's time?

I'm not entirely sure of the production numbers of other marques from around the world, but the 55 and 56 Chevrolets were the top-selling US cars for those years. The 57 Ford outsold the 57 Chevrolet by about 15,000 units that year, the first time Ford had outsold Chevrolet since the '20s.
