I have the stock 16 rims with bias tires and tubes inside
I would like to put some after market rims ,,wider in the back narrow on front and maybe just lower the truck a little.
Any suggestions on tires sizes and rims?

Answer
My understanding is that the bolt pattern on your truck is the same from the '30s through the '70s F1-F100-F150, so you should not have any issues with finding replacement rims. I'm not sure what your original tire size was, I think it might be 6.50x16 (a 100 profile in modern terms), so good alternate sizes might be something along the lines of a 205/75-15 for starters. By using modern conversion calculators and upsizing calculators (Tire Rack and similar websites offer these), you can make some choices as to how big or low you want to go. I don't think you'll have much trouble with the rear clearances, but I would be careful about going too wide in the front due to suspension/steering component clearances. All this assumes, of course, that you've not made any mods to the steering and front suspension. Personally, I have always enjoyed the classic Cragar S/S or the Torq Thrust 5 spoke wheels, but that's my own personal opinion - to each his own. Good Luck!
