Vintage Cars: VIN Location, aluminum plate, enthusiast clubs

Question
I have a '54, '55 or '56 Dodge Job Rated Custom truck I want to sell. But, I don't know where to find the VIN on a Dodge as I'm a Chevy person through & through

Answer
Older vehicles usually had a riveted on aluminum plate on the drivers door jamb between or just above the hinges.

This is on the firewall assembly actually.

Also it is common to put it on the frame somewhere, but on older vehicles that get real use, this can be near impossible to find through the rust.  It is usually found after the frame has been stripped to fresh bare metal.

I assume you don't have a title, as it would be on there.

Wish I could help more, but you might try calling a junkyard, and see if they know.

Also check with enthusiast clubs, they usually have experts in specific vehicles.  here is one I found:
