Vintage Cars: mg vs mgb, invitation to the ball, mgb roadster

Question
We have recieved an auto for auction for our fundraiser for Cystic Fibrosis...it is a 1979 Mg...question is...what is the difference between a mgb and a mg...I don't know how to word the information in the invitation to the ball where it will be auctioned off..all I know is that it is a convertible, fully restored with a wooden luggage rack, red with a black top and the person donating it paid $12,000 for it at a wholesale auction.  Appreciate your help...thank you.

The MGB is a model that was manufactured in England from 1964 through until 1981. They were available as a roadster (convertible) or as a GT (hardtop.
The MGB in both forms has become a collectors item especially the convertible model and in restored condition it is quite a desirable MG.
Every single component is available today (from wipers to a complete body shell) through many MG suppliers in the USA and England at reasonable prices.
There are MG clubs throughout the world including the USA and Canada and anyone with an MG is welcomed as a friend.
