Auto Accident

A few weeks ago I was listening to my favorite rock radio station; they were playing Incubus new single Dig. At the end of the song, the DJ announced that the station would be giving away two free tickets to the 88th caller; I was listening to Rockin 88.2. I should probably tell you that I never win anythingever. But for some reason that day I was feeling lucky. So I called in and I ended up winning. I was on cloud nine. Not only did I just win free tickets, but I was going to see one of my favorite bands.

That Friday I swung by the station to grab my tickets, picked up my girlfriend, and headed to the show. The parking lot was crowded, but we found a spot pretty quickly. The concert was amazing. They played a lot of songs off their new album, but the set list also included to a few classics. We were a little worried that the show was going to get rained out, but the weather held till the encore. It was almost as if Mother Nature wanted to hear the show because as soon as Brandon Boyd walked off the stage it started pouring.

My girlfriend and I fought through the crowd to get back to the car. It was raining pretty hard, but the impending lightning was what really sent everyone into chaos. By the time we reached the car we were exhausted; our voices horse, feet hurting, and clothes soaking. It was one of the best concerts I have ever been to. As we were waiting in the massive line of cars to exit the parking lot, one car tried cruising up the shoulder. He was going too fast when he tried to cut in behind me, and rear ended my new car. When the cop showed up to record the accident, the guy blatantly lied. He claimed that the rain caused the accident. I tried arguing with the cop, but he wouldnt listen. He said it was up to our insurance companies to figure out. Anyway, I contacted my insurance provider and asked them to check the other drivers brakes. It turned out that his pads and rotors were worn down to the bone. He lost his case and I got my car repaired for free. So the one time I won free tickets, I got into my first car accident. I guess nothing in life is for free.
