Ohio Car Insurance Limit Change | Minimum Liability Change

Ohio-Minimum-Limits-Change

The Ohio law is changing to require minimum bodily injury limits of $25,000 per person and $50,000 per accident, as well as property damage limits of $25,000 per accident. (25,000/50,000/25,000).  The minimum amount of liability car insurance coverage required to satisfy Ohio’s Financial Responsibility law was previously 12,500/25,000/7,500.

Below is more information regarding the Ohio minimum limits car insurance change:

  • $25,000 because of bodily injury to or death of one person in any one accident
  • $50,000 because of bodily injury to or death of two or more persons in any one accident, subject to the $12,500 per person limit
  • $25,000 because of injury to or destruction of property of others in an accident
