1990 Cadillac Deville Specifications

The 1990 Cadillac DeVille was produced in a two-door coupe as well as a four-door sedan. Both models had almost identical specification and components. The 1990 year model featured a driver's side airbag and new leather-covered steering wheel with a more powerful engine. The DeVille models have been changed recently to the Cadillac DTS, to stand for "DeVille Touring Sedan." The last DeVille model was manufactured in 2005.

Engine Components

  • The Cadillac DeVille came equipped with a gas guzzling 4.5 liter V8 engine with 180 horsepower. As a result of the larger engine, the DeVille obtained 15 miles per gallon in the city and 23 miles per gallon on the highway. Both the sedan and the coupe were front wheel drive vehicles. It would be many years before all wheel drive technology would be introduced on sedans and other smaller cars. Fuel tank capacity was 18 gallons.

Safety Features

  • The Cadillac DeVille included for the first time in the series a driver's side airbag, but it did not include an airbag on the passenger side. Antilock brakes were available as an optional upgrade.

Interior and Exterior Features

  • Five new colors were introduced for the 1990 series, including slate gray, light auburn, dark auburn, medium slate gray and dark slate gray. This brought the total number of colors to 15 offered in the 1990 model. Interior features such as a premium audio system, 15-inch wheels, a power driver's seat, cruise control, power steering, power door locks and power sideview mirrors were all standard. Optional upgrades included leather seating, alloy wheels, Bose stereo, power sunroof and automatic on and off headlights. Exterior length measured 205 inches with a width of 71 inches. The wheelbase measured 113.8 inches.
