The Buick Park Avenue, produced in the United States until 2005, boasted a remote keyless entry system in later years. This feature allows you to lock and unlock the doors or trunk from about three feet away. You simply press a button on the key fob, which contains a radio transmitter. There's also a "panic button" that, when pressed, will sound the car's horn for half a minute. Occasionally you must program the key fob after replacing the battery, which will "re-sync" the transmitter to the receiver in your car.

Press both "Lock" and "Unlock" on the key fob at the same time for about eight seconds. The horn will sound once, and the headlights will flash to acknowledge that reprogramming is complete.
Test the key fob by pressing "Lock" to see if the car responds by locking the door.
