Noticeably, electric trucks have gained attention recently.  Over the years, global warming, climate change and energy crisis have plagued the world over. Since the latter part of the1800's, the main energy sources in the planet are fossil fuels and gasoline. As compared to new kinds of trucks, gasoline trucks are comparatively less fuel efficient. Their mpg is also less compared to the new ones. Regrettably for gasoline trucks, studies show that they are one of the major emitters of carbon dioxide, a feat not favorable today. Just like fossil fuel burning, gasoline powered vehicles also emit considerable amounts of greenhouse gases like nitrogen oxide. Cost fluctuations in the market also render gasoline as an unstable commodity. One minute prices are extremely low and the next prices are skyrocketing. As sources for gasoline continually depletes and the pressing issues over its use, it's wiser to adopt new technologies that are not just cost efficient but also friendly to the environment. Nowadays, electric vehicles, electric SUV´s and electric trucks have gained quite the attention.

Likewise, the use of electric trucks in place of gasoline trucks has also been discussed. One comparative advantage of an electric truck over a gasoline truck is that it does not need to burn any fuel to function. Since electricity is abundant and it's supply is not "depleting in nature," electric truck operation is convenient. Noiseless and emission free, electric trucks contribute to a cleaner and smog free environment.
