Feds Investigate Unsafe Honda Motorcycles & ATVs

Federal agencies are investigating allegations that the largest Honda dealer in the country intentionally and knowingly sold unsafe motorcycles, dirt bikes, and all terrain vehicles to the public.
The largest Honda dealership in the country is currently the subject of an investigation by federal agencies, over whether it intentionally and knowingly sold unsafe and improperly assembled motorcycles, dirt bikes and all-terrain vehicles to the American public.

The dealership, Southern Honda based in Tennessee is being investigated by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. The investigation is linked to allegations made by a former consultant at the dealership, who says that he witnessed several irregularities in the way that motorcycles were being assembled at the Southern Honda facility.

According to the marketing consultant, Ernest Vickers, he brought these i
rregularities and unsafe assemblies to the attention of the federal administration at least 5 years ago. Again in 2010, he informed the federal administration about the disregard for safety practices at Southern Honda. He was supported in these allegations by other former employees of Southern Honda who also alleged that safety Is often neglected at the dealership.
However, in spite of this knowledge, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration failed to initiate an investigation into the safety irregularities at Southern Honda.

The charges are under investigation now, and if the investigation does find that the allegations are indeed true, then it's possible that many people are riding potentially dangerous motorcycles, dirt bikes and all-terrain vehicles sold by Southern Honda.

What has been really worrying in all of these allegations is the inaction by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. The agency was informed about these unsafe practices at Southern Power Honda in 2005, but it took 7 years for the federal administration to actually initiate a probe. This delay in taking investigative action is something that warrants a closer look.
