Put on safety glasses and utility gloves to protect yourself from hazardous glass.
From outside of the Suburu, cut around the window's inside molding adhesive with a carpet knife. Slice around the perimeter at a slow and steady pace.
From inside the vehicle, place pressure on the glass. With both hands, push on the glass to dislodge it from its seal. Have an assistant stand on the outside of the car to catch the glass so that it will not fall and break.
Wipe adhesive gunk from the threshold with mild soap and water.
Replace the windshield. Bead a layer of urethane caulk on the inside of the frame. With an assistant, set the glass into the threshold of the car. Apply pressure to the glass by pressing on it, putting all your weight on it to create an airtight seal.
Allow the urethane to set for 24 to 48 hours.
