How to Program a Bulldog Remote

Bulldog Security (bulldogsecurity.com) is an aftermarket automotive accessories company that specializes in car security systems and related devices; such as remote car starters, alarms and keyless entry systems. All Bulldog Security systems are operated by remotes, typically attached to a set of car keys. Despite having many different functions and uses, Bulldog Security remotes are controlled by similar CPUs, which makes programming the basic functions of resetting the memory back to factory default and programming dual pulse door unlocking identical.

Reset Memory to Factory Default

  • Press down on the brake pedal and hold it down.

  • Insert the key into the ignition and turn the key position from "Off" to "On" 15 times, very quickly.

  • Release the brake pedal and press any button on the remote. The remote should no longer operate the car. If the remote buttons appear to work, repeat steps one and two.

  • Locate the Bulldog CPU, typically installed under the hood, or in the trunk of the car.

  • Unplug the red wires and the 16-pin harness from the CPU unit and then reconnect the wires after 60 seconds. The car's parking lights will flash.

  • Press the "Stop" or "Button #4" button on your remote. The system has now been reset and all buttons should function normally.

Programming Dual Pulse Door Unlock

  • Hold the brake pedal down with your foot.

  • Press and hold "Button #4" on the remote, until you see the parking lights blink four times consecutively.

  • Release "Button #4" and then immediately press "Buttton #3" once. Your parking lights should blink one time.

  • Take your foot off the brake pedal and the parking light should blink three more times to confirm the programming. The remote now sends a dual pulse to unlock the doors when the unlock button is pressed.
