How to Troubleshoot a Chrysler Concorde Car Alarm

Chrysler's Concorde automobiles include a security alarm system that monitors the doors, trunk key cylinder and ignition for non-permitted use. The alarm system also comes equipped with a panic alarm. The security alarm will set off an alarm for up to 18 minutes following an indication of tampering. Problems with the Chrysler Concorde alarm can be related to setting or disarming. These kinds of problems can be corrected by following some troubleshooting.

Things You'll Need

  • DL 2016 batteries
  • Disarm the system by unlocking a front door using a key, or use the keyless entry system if the alarm is set. You can tell that the alarm is set if the "Set" light on the dashboard flashes slowly. Disarm the system if the engine won't start as the engine will not work if the alarm is on.

  • Check the Chrysler for signs of tampering. If the horn sounds three times when you unlock a front door with the key or transmitter, this is an indication that the alarm has been triggered.

  • Monitor the "Set" light if you're unsure of the alarm system's status. It will flash rapidly for 16 seconds to tell you that it's arming. If it stays solid, there's a problem with the trunk circuit. Disarm the system by unlocking a front door and re-seat the trunk lid looking for obstructions. Try the alarm again.

  • Change the battery in the keyless transmitter if the panic alarm doesn't work, or the system won't arm or disarm with the transmitter. Insert a dime between the front and back to pry the case apart and insert a fresh battery. Snap the two halves back together and try the transmitter again.
