1997 Chevy Tahoe's Oil Pan Bolt Torque Specs

The Tahoe first came to life in 1995, as the replacement for the full-size Blazer. The changeover from Blazer to Tahoe was more of a rebadging job than the introduction of a new model, as the 1994 Blazer and 1995 Tahoe were nearly identical. The oil pan on 1997 Tahoe's 5.7-liter V-8 requires a two-stage torque process in order to correctly seal it and prevent leaks.

Oil Pan Bolt Torque

  • Tighten the oil pan bolts to 106 inch-pounds in a crisscrossing pattern initially, then tighten them to 18 foot-pounds in the same pattern.
