The C4 is the name given to the Corvettes produced by Chevrolet between the years 1984 and 1996. The C4 came equipped with an instrument cluster on the driver's side of the dashboard that contained several gauges, such as the fuel gauge or speedometer, as well as several dash lights to help you see the cluster at night. The most common issues afflicting a faulty cluster are a burnt out fuse, a loose wiring connector or a faulty cluster.
Open the C4's hood and use a socket wrench to disconnect the battery.
Lift off the engine compartment's fuse block cover with your hands.
Remove the fuse in slot 13 using the fuse puller and replace it with a new 10A fuse.
Open the C4's hood and use a socket wrench to disconnect the battery.
Remove the three screws securing the upper portion of the dash above the instrument cluster with a Phillips screwdriver. Remove the dash.
Remove the four screws securing the instrument cluster to the C4. Pull the cluster towards you.
Reach behind the cluster and locate the wiring connector. Tug on the connector. If it is loose, securely plug it back into the cluster.
Open the C4's hood and use a socket wrench to disconnect the battery.
Remove the three screws securing the upper portion of the dash above the instrument cluster with a Phillips screwdriver. Remove the dash.
Remove the four screws securing the instrument cluster to the C4. Pull the cluster towards you. Disconnect the wiring connector at the rear of the cluster.
Remove the cluster from the C4. Place the replacement cluster into the C4 and reattach the wiring connector,
