Subaru Impreza Radio Installation

Installing a new radio on Subaru Impreza is fairly simple. The radio is held in place by a few screws. Once you unfasten those screws, you can disconnect the Impreza radio electrical connector and pull it out, then install the new radio. It's a fairly simple task that should only take about twenty minutes to complete, though you do need to disconnect the battery before beginning the procedure in order to prevent a possible short circuit or accidental shock.

Things You'll Need

  • Phillips-head screwdriver
  • Open the driver door of your Impreza. Locate the dash panel covering the radio and air circulation vents.

  • Use both hands to pull the dash panel off of the radio. Be careful not to break the plastic dash panel.

  • Use a small Phillips-head screwdriver to unfasten all four screws securing the Impreza radio. Pull the radio toward you, unplug its wiring connector and remove it from the vehicle.

  • Push the new radio into the hole in the center of the central console and attach the wiring connector to the radio.

  • Reinstall the four screws and push the dash panel back onto the radio, making sure it snaps into place.
