Toyota started offering compact pickups in the U.S. market in 1964, when it introduced the Stout. In 1993, Toyota launched its first full-sized pickup in the U.S. market, known as the T100. In the 2000 model year, Toyota released the all-new Tundra to replace the T100 pickup and it remains part of Toyota's lineup in 2011. The door trim panel of the Tundra not only protects the mechanisms inside the door, but it also gives the interior a streamlined look. When one of the components behind this panel fails, remove the panel for repair.
Wrap the blade of the flat-head screwdriver with a layer of duct tape to prevent damage to the trim pieces when using the screwdriver as a prying tool -- or, use a trim tool.
Use a Phillips screwdriver to remove the screw securing the door handle bezel to the door panel. Pull the handle, as you would when opening the door, and pry the bezel from the panel with the flat-head screwdriver.
Detach the window crank cover, if equipped with manual windows, by using the flat-head screwdriver as a lever, exposing the bolt under the cover. Remove the bolt with a ratchet and socket and pull the crank from the door panel.
Pry upward on the power window and lock switch, if equipped with power widows and locks, with a flat-head screwdriver to free it from the panel. Remove the switch from the panel and disconnect the wires from the bottom of the switch.
Loosen the screws retaining the courtesy light to the base of the door panel with a Phillips screwdriver and pull the light from the panel. Disconnect the wires connecting to the rear of the light assembly.
Remove the screws securing the tweeter cover to the door and pull it from the door. Loosen and remove the three screws holding the tweeter in place using a Phillips screwdriver. Pull the tweeter from the door.
Pry up on the circular screw covers in the top corner of the panel, and remove the two screws beneath the covers with the Phillips screwdriver.
Disengage the door trim clips along the bottom of the door panel by prying up on them with the trim removal tool. Substitute a flat-head screwdriver for the trim removal tool if one is not available.
Pull the panel upward and remove it from the door.
