The 2001 Chrysler LHS has an analog dash clock located in the center of the dash. If this clock breaks, you can remove it and replace it with ease. In order to replace the dash clock, you'll first need to remove the panel the dash clock is attached onto. A typical automotive trim stick, which you can find at many automotive parts stores, is the ideal tool to use on the LHS's soft plastic dash. This prevents you from scratching the dash panel.
Turn off the LHS's engine. Open its hood and find the remote battery terminal on the driver's side of the engine compartment. Unhook the negative battery cable from the black remote battery terminal using your pliers or a wrench.
Sit inside the LHS. Examine the panel in the center of the dash. This panel houses the center air vents as well as the dash clock. Pry along the edges of the panel with your trim stick to free the panel. Pull the panel off.
Pull the plug from the rear of the panel. This connects to the rear of the dash clock. Bring the separated panel to a table or workbench.
Remove the two Phillips screws from the rear of the dash clock using a Phillips screwdriver. Pull the dash clock away from the panel.
Insert the new dash clock in its place. Push the clock face through the mounting hole. Inspect the front side of the panel to ensure the clock is properly aligned. Insert and tighten the two Phillips screws.
Connect the plug into the rear of the dash clock. Insert the center dash panel back into its mount. Push it firmly into the dash to reattach the panel's clips.
Slip the black cable over the remote battery terminal. Tighten the nut with the wrench or pliers to secure it. Close the hood.
