Add a little extra style to your Mini Cooper by changing the side lights from an orange light to a clear light or vice versa. The side lights on the Mini Cooper are easy to change and it doesn't require any special tools. While changing the side marker lights you can also change the side scuttles. There are a range of side scuttles on the market ranging from a checkered flag to a Union Jack.
Open the hood of the Mini Cooper.
Grasp the side scuttle --- the plastic bit surrounding the light --- and pull it towards you firmly. It will snap out of its clip and move forward.
Pivot the front of the scuttle away from the car and it will become loose, attached only by the wire to the side light.
Detach the wire from the back of the side light and the whole assembly will become unattached from the car.
Look at the back of the side scuttle and unclip the side marker light from the side scuttle and remove it. Replace it with the new light and clip it back into place.
Reattach the wire to the back of the marker light.
Place the scuttle with the new light and wire attached back in place on the car. Pivot the front end back towards the body until it is flush.
Firmly push the scuttle back towards the rear of the car until it snaps into place.
Close the hood.
