Instructions on How to Install Nissan Altima Fog Lamps

The fog lights on your Nissan Altima are an important safety feature. If they go out, they should be replaced as soon as possible. As the fog lights are contained near the bottom of the front of your Altima, they have to be accessed from underneath the vehicle. The process is very simple and requires only a screwdriver and replacement 881L bulb, which can be purchased at most automotive parts stores.

Things You'll Need

  • Clean gloves
  • Phillips screwdriver
  • Replacement bulb
  • Turn off the engine of the Altima and crawl underneath the front of it. Put on the gloves.

  • Remove the two screws under the bumper on the side of the fog light you are replacing. Bend back the black plastic inner fender line and disconnect the electrical connector from the fog lamp assembly.

  • Twist the old bulb counterclockwise to remove it. Place the new bulb into the fog lamp assembly and rotate it clockwise to secure it.

  • Reconnect the electrical connector to the fog lamp assembly. Place the black plastic inner fender liner back onto the vehicle and reinstall the two screws.
