The automatic windshield washer system in all Toyota Camry models includes the washer tank and hose. Leakage in the tank and hose is a common problem. Fortunately, repairs are relatively inexpensive and require only a few tools.
Pop the hood of the Camry when it is on level ground by pulling on the hood-release lever underneath the steering column. Locate the washer tank in the engine cavity in front of the wheel well on the driver's side. The washer tank is a clear tank with a blue screw cap, filled with blue liquid. Place a collection pan below the tank underneath the car.
Attach the socket wrench extension tool to the 10 mm socket wrench. Remove the three bolts that attach the tank to the engine. Reach underneath the tank and unhook the power cable clip from the cylindrical washer motor. Detach the washer hose attached to the washer motor with the clamp removal tool. Pull the tank out of the engine cavity.
Pull the washer motor out of the bottom of the tank. Use a flathead screwdriver to remove the rubber grommet from the tank. Place the rubber grommet in the new washer fluid tank. Spray it with lubricant and push the washer motor into the grommet until it snaps into place on the tank.
Pull the washer hose out of the engine by using the clamp removal to disconnect it from the white connectors that run up the hood of the vehicle. Hold up the length of hose to the new hose and use it to measure the length of new hose. Cut the hose with scissors. Attach the new hose to the white plastic connectors.
Attach the power cable and the washer hose to the washer motor on the new tank. Place the tank back in the engine. Fasten the tank in place with the bolts and the socket wrench.
Unscrew the lid and fill it with washer fluid up to the MAX line. Place the lid back on and close the hood.
