Truck Headliner Repair

The headliner in a truck is important to keep in good shape. If it starts falling or sagging, it can block visibility because the cab of a truck is small. Headliners can sag because the adhesive used is no longer sticking, because wind has whipped against it or because someone has pulled on it. You can repair the headliner in your truck and have it looking like new again in less than 30 minutes.

Things You'll Need

  • Spray adhesive
  • Phillips screwdriver
  • Flat screwdriver
  • Flatten the headliner against the ceiling of the cab. Notice where the headliner has been pulled away from the edges of the ceiling, out from behind the trim piece along the edges.

  • Loosen the Phillips screws that are holding the trim piece to the truck. They are plainly visible. Don't take them out.

  • Spray a thin coat of adhesive to the back side of the headliner, the side that will touch the ceiling. Spray a thin coat of adhesive onto the ceiling. Allow them to dry one minute and then press the headliner against the ceiling. Use your hand to rub any wrinkles toward the edges to smooth them out.

  • Tuck the edge of the headliner behind the trim piece. Tighten the trim piece against the truck. Use the flat screwdriver to completely tuck the headliner into the trim piece.
