How to Change the Blinker Bulb in a Lincoln Navigator

The Lincoln Navigator is a luxury SUV equipped with a front headlight assembly that also contains the marker lights and turn signals. The rear turn signals are part of a multi-purpose taillight assembly that also contains the brake lights, the marker lights and the back-up lights. If one of your Navigator's turn signals is not working, it likely means that the bulb is burned out. You can replace the bulb yourself in just a few minutes.

Things You'll Need

  • Phillips screwdriver
  • Front replacement bulb #3157A
  • Rear replacement bulb #4057K

Front Blinker Bulb

  • Turn the ignition and the headlight switch off.

  • Open the hood. From the front of the vehicle, remove the two screws at the top of the headlight assembly lens that attach it to the Navigator.

  • Pull the assembly forward away from the vehicle. This will give you access to the rear panel of the assembly.

  • Rotate the bulb socket counterclockwise to release it from the headlight housing. The turn-signal bulb is in the middle socket.

  • Pull the bulb out of the socket and insert the new one.

  • Insert the socket into the headlight assembly. Rotate it clockwise to lock it into place.

  • Reposition the headlight assembly and replace the two mounting screws. Close the hood.

Rear Blinker Bulb

  • Turn the ignition and headlight switch off.

  • Open the Navigator's rear liftgate to expose the taillight assembly mounting screws.

  • Remove the two screws. Pull the taillight assembly straight back away from the vehicle. This will expose the bulb sockets.

  • Turn the middle socket counterclockwise to release it from the assembly and pull it out.

  • Pull out the old bulb and insert a new one.

  • Insert the socket into the taillight assembly and lock it into place by turning it clockwise.

  • Reattach the taillight assembly and replace the two screws. Close the liftgate.
