How to Replace the Passenger Side Mirror on a Ford Windstar

The side view mirrors on a Ford Windstar are made of shatter-resistant plastic. The mirrors are located inside a large, plastic mirror housing that attaches to the side of the door. The passenger side mirror does not have an electric motor for mirror adjustments. You adjust the mirror by pushing on it. The mirror is attached to plastic ball molded into the plastic housing. The clips that allow you to pivot the mirror for adjustment also hold the mirror inside of the housing.

  • Pivot the passenger side mirror to the left. This pushes the right side of the mirror out of the housing.

  • Pull outward on the right side of the mirror to pop the mirror off the pivot ball.

  • Place the passenger side mirror into the plastic housing and line up the clips on the back of the mirror with the plastic ball located inside of the housing.

  • Place the center of your palm on the center of the mirror and push the tabs around the plastic ball until you hear the mirror snap into place.
