The headlight bulbs in your 2004 Mitsubishi Galant are easy to access from within the engine compartment. If a bulb burns out on your car, replace it yourself at home and save a repair center bill. Your headlights are an important factor in your visibility during low light conditions so you should never neglect them. The Galant uses 9005 high beam bulb and a 9006 low beam bulb. Buy replacement bulbs at an auto parts store.
Open the hood of your Mitsubishi Galant and prop it on the support rod. Locate the dust cover locking cap on the rear of the headlight assembly. Turn the cover counter-clockwise and remove it.
Turn the bulb and socket counter-clockwise to remove it from the headlight assembly. Pull the bulb straight out of the socket.
Insert the new bulb into the socket, pressing it securely into the connector. Insert the bulb into the headlight assembly and turn it clockwise to lock it into place.
Replace the dust cover by turning it clockwise to secure it. Repeat the process on the opposite side if needed. Close the hood and test the operation of the new headlights.
