Your Acura Integra ignition switch might need to be replaced after many years of use. Oftentimes the switch will die suddenly, with no warning. When this happens, you won't be able to hear the usual one-click sound when you initially crank the engine. Replacement switches can be purchased from Honda if your switch used the transponder key-type switch. If you owned an older ignition switch, you can buy the switch and cylinder assembly from most auto parts stores. Either way, the removal process is the same.
Remove the screws on the underside of the steering column cover.
Pull down on the steering column cover to remove it.
Push the punch pin into the access hole underneath the ignition switch assembly. This will push in on the release tab on the switch assembly.
Wedge the flat tip screwdriver underneath the face of the ignition cylinder where the key is inserted. Pry the ignition cylinder and switch assembly out of the steering column with a flat-tip screwdriver while maintaining pressure on the punch pin. This will allow you to pull the cylinder and switch out of the steering column.
