In the early years, entry-level Kias were cheap, no-frills vehicles that helped the growing automaker pull in sales from folks that wanted something easier on the wallet than your typical Toyota or Honda. It was models like the Spectra that bridged the gap between the stripped-down models of yesteryear and the more up-to-date Kias of 2014. The 2009 Spectra even came with standard air conditioning, something that was not common in earlier Kias.
Put the passenger seat as far back as it goes. Look under the dashboard, in front of the glove box, and find the blower motor screwed into the heating, ventilation and air-conditioning box.
Press and hold the unlocking button on the blower motor wiring harness, and unplug the harness.
Remove the three screws securing the blower motor to the HVAC box, using a ratchet and socket, and lower the blower motor from HVAC box.
Align the new blower motor with the opening in the HVAC box, then guide the blower motor into place. Install its retaining screws and just snug them. Use care not to overtighten the screws and strip the HVAC box.
Plug the wiring harness into the blower motor.
Test the blower for proper operation.
