How to Remove Interior Door Panel on a Dodge Durango

There are all kinds of reasons why you might need to remove the interior door panel on a Dodge Durango. If you need to replace a window motor, audio speaker, door control module, window track, or side-view mirror, you must remove the interior door panel.

Things You'll Need

  • Phillips head screwdriver
  • Small flathead screwdriver
  • Open the door to the Dodge Durango and roll the window all the way down. Remove the keys from the ignition afterward.

  • Remove the screw in the front upper corner of the door panel using a Phillips head screwdriver.

  • Locate and remove the interior door handle screw using a Phillips head screwdriver.

  • Locate and remove the Phillips head screw below and behind the armrest.

  • Remove the two Phillips head screws at the bottom of the door panel.

  • Lift the door panel upward and outward slightly. Secure the door panel with your leg and one hand.

  • Disconnect the mirror control knob wire. Use the small flathead screwdriver to press in on the clip lock, then unplug the wire from the harness.

  • Use the flathead screwdriver to swivel the plastic clip in a clockwise motion that retains the door linkage to the interior door handle assembly. Remove the metal rod of the interior door handle assembly out of the designated hole.

  • Locate the window control panel wire. Pull the red key lock outward to release the wire harness from the window control panel. Remove the door panel and set it aside.

  • Peel the dust sheet away from the door to gain access into the door cavity if desired. To replace the door panel, reverse the procedure.
