1998 Ford Taurus SE Flasher Fuse Locations

The 1998 Ford Taurus SE was a step up from the base model, with options not available on the Taurus LX. Still a far cry from the pricier SHO, the SE had available options that were standard equipment on its high-performance stable mate. Even though the prior year's redesign gave the Taurus a more oval-shaped body -- which turned out to be less popular with consumers -- it was rated "Good" by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety for both driver and passenger front crash ratings. My Taurus SE had been reliable, so I was relieved that when a problem did pop up, it was resolved by simply changing a fuse.

  • Find the fuse panel under the dashboard, to the left of the steering wheel, near the brake pedal. Remove the panel cover. Remove the fuse puller from inside the fuse panel cover.

  • Use the fuse puller to grasp and pull the fuse -- the red, 10A fuse in slot No. 15 for the turn signals, or the light blue, 15A fuse in slot No. 29 for the hazard flashers. Insert the new fuse.

  • Return the fuse puller to the inside of the fuse panel cover. Install the fuse panel cover.
