How to Replace the PCV Valve in a Plymouth Voyager

The positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) valve makes up an important part of your Plymouth Voyager's ventilation system. If the PCV valve doesn't work properly, it can cause your engine to backfire or not engage due to a build up of pressure. If your PCV valve needs replacing, you can easily replace the valve of your Voyager with a 3.0 engine in a few simple steps.

Things You'll Need

  • 15mm box wrench
  • Locate the PCV valve to the right of your Voyager's engine on the intake manifold. You'll find it by following the large hose attached to it at the open end.

  • Determine whether your PCV valve requires replacement. If air does not flow freely, then you're going to need to buy a new PCV valve for your Voyager.

  • Purchase a PCV valve for your 3.0 Plymouth Voyager from Car Stuff. You can order the original equipment replacement for Voyagers manufactured between the years 1991 and 2000.

  • Remove the vacuum hose attached to the PCV valve in order to start the replacement. Use a 15mm box wrench to remove the PCV valve and discard it.

  • Use the box wrench to install the newly purchased PCV valve of your Plymouth Voyager. Once firmly in place, you can reattach the hose.
