Prestige car alarms are theft-deterrent systems used to protect your car when you are away. When activated, the alarm will sound if an attempt is made to break into your car. Prestige alarm systems are set actively by the user or can be set passively, but there is no difference in the type of protection supplied by the Prestige car alarm system when deciding on a method to set the alarm.
Shut off the car engine, exit the car and close all doors.
Push the "Lock" button on the remote control to set the alarm. The lights on the car will flash once and the horn will beep, indicating the alarm is set.
Press and hold the "Lock" button for approximately two seconds to set the alarm silently. The lights will still flash when the alarm is set, but the horn will not sound.
Set the alarm passively by letting the car sit without pressing the "Lock" button. After approximately 30 seconds, the lights will flash and the horn will sound once, indicating the alarm is set.
Disable the alarm by pressing the "Unlock" button on the remote control. The lights will flash twice and the horn will sound two times.
