How to Identify Brodix Heads

Brodix heads are car cylinder parts manufactured by Brodix, Inc., in Arkansas. You can find the cylinder head above the cylinder block. The cylinder head contains part of the combustion block and other parts of the engine. Brodix manufactures aluminum cylinder heads for custom made cars. Brodix produces cylinder heads for a number of car manufacturers, including Ford and Chevrolet, so you may have come across a Brodix head before.

  • Search for the Brodix serial number on the cylinder head. You can easily find the number at the end of the casting below the valve cover rail. Brodix started numbering all cylinder heads in 1979, so all cylinder heads made after 1979 are in the Brodix central database. Take a note of the serial number.

  • Check the Brodix website. Click on the Frequently Asked Questions section where Brodix has a customer support page to look up serial numbers. Alternatively, you can call the Brodix customer service desk and quote the serial number to a service representative.

  • Look for the Brodix trademark sign engraved on the cylinder head, if the cylinder head was manufactured before 1979. The trademark is the word "Brodix" plus the type of the cylinder head engraved either on top of the cylinder head or on the side.
